Welcome!
My practice focuses on improving speech and language skills in the pediatric population. I work with kiddos who have Apraxia and completed the Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) training. This is a hands on, tactile input treatment strategy used to enhance motor speech production. The PROMPT approach is used to treat speech production disorders that can be used for ages 6 months and older.
Throughout my experience, I truly have enjoyed learning about all the different kinds of speech problems a child may have. A few of them range from apraxia, which is when a child may have trouble saying what he or she wants to say correctly and consistently, to children who are late talkers and need a little help in the right direction. Whether your child has difficulty producing certain sounds, or you as a parent, or anyone with an untrained ear, are having difficulties understanding your child, I am here to help and guide you with the tools I have gathered from my schooling and experiences. The PROMPT method encapsulates it all!
I will also help guide you on the different ways you can expand your child’s vocabulary, enhance receptive and expressive language, and get your little one vocalizing more expanded utterances.
I may only see your child one or two times a week, so true success happens when the parent uses the tools I provide outside of speech therapy to facilitate language and speech sound production. My services are individualized to your child’s specific needs and I will have you there every step of the way, so Let’s Talk!
